Shioli Kutsuna Desnuda : Shiori Kutsuna (Kutsuna Shiori, Sydney, Australia, December 22, 1992) is a Japanese actress, model and idol, affiliated with Oscar Promotion. She is primarily known for her roles as Ran Mori in Shinichi Kudo’s Written Challenge, Minami Maho in Beck, and most recently Yukio in Deadpool.

Early life

Kutsuna was born on December 22, 1992, in the Sydney, Australia suburb of Killarney Heights. She lived in Australia until the age of fourteen before moving to Japan to pursue a career as an idol and actress. In 2011, alongside actresses Mayuko Kawakita and Riko Narumi, Kutsuna graduated from the illustrious Horikoshi High School in Nakano, Tokyo.

In 2013, she dropped out of her studies at the University of Tokyo before starting her junior year in order to focus on her career. Her agency commented that “it was really difficult for her to work while she was going to college. She found it difficult to attend classes due to her work on hers dramas. She accepted and abandoned her. She now she will focus on her career as an actress. ”1 Kutsuna is fluent in English and Japanese.


In 2006, Kutsuna won the Judge’s Prize at the 2006 All-Japan National Young Beauty Contest. In 2009, she got her first lead role in the series 7 Mannin Tantei Nitobe. In it she plays Tsugumi Nitobe, a college student who has 70,000 friends on the Internet and solves difficult cases by using her brain.

In 2011, she was cast as Ran Mori in a Detective Conan live-action special drama titled Shinichi Kudo’s Written Challenge. Kutsuna replaced actress Tomoka Kurokawa, who played Ran in previous specials in 2006 and 2007.

In 2012, Kutsuna was named Best New Actress of 2011 by the film magazine Kinema Junpo. In 2017, it was announced that she would be playing the character Yukio in the movie Deadpool.
